A crown, also known as a cap, covers a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, thereby strengthening and improving its overall appearance.
A crown may be recommended to cover and support a tooth with a large filling. A crown can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking, or restore one that is already broken.
There are three main types of dental crowns. Each designed for different applications. Metal gold crowns are particularly suitable for posterior teeth exposed to heavy chewing forces.
Porcelain or ceramic crowns, offer excellent aesthetic results and closely match the appearance of natural teeth. They blend seamlessly in with your smile.
Finally, Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns combine the strength of metal with the cosmetic appeal of porcelain. This type of crown is often recommended for load-bearing teeth that are visible when you smile.
At Floss Dental Care , we prioritize affordable, high-quality dental crowns and restorative treatments. Our commitment to your care ensures a personalized experience that meets your needs. And with a range of crown options available, we cater to everyone.
The dental team is excellent!!! They explained exactly what needed to be done for a successful new crown install and was detailed with the work. Very clean, professional and personable environment. The temp crown is in place and I have no issues! I can’t tell that it’s a crown. It feels and looks like my normal tooth! Can’t wait for the permanent crown in 2 weeks! GREAT JOB!!
I recently saw Dr. Ryann Maloney to have a crown put on a back molar and she and Danielle did an amazing job! I happen to have a condition called BPPV, which means if I hold my head in certain positions I experience a violent spinning/falling sensation. One of the things I cannot do is tip my head back, which is the normal position for dental work. I was not sure she would be willing to try to help me because it is quite labor intensive. I was seated almost upright and both Dr. Ryann and Danielle did the whole procedure standing up and in some very uncomfortable positions, but they made sure I never had to tip my head back and that I was comfortable. I know their backs hurt the next day! But I am so grateful and appreciative that they were willing to go over and above when they could have easily said sorry, can’t do it. I will never go anywhere else for dental care. If you have any hesitancy about going to the dentist, Dr. Ryann Maloney and Floss Dental is for you. I can’t say enough good things about them.
Had a crown replaced, it was quick and painless and now feels like it is my own tooth. Love the entire staff at Floss Dental Care
